Did you notice that AP recently changed its preferred spelling of “website” (one word, lowercase) and “email” (no hyphen)? 

The dreaded acronym


Corporate America’s use of the acronym ran rampant in the late 1980s and throughout the '90s. The trend in new business 

communications views this less favorably. Although abbreviations and truncated symbolism rules text messaging, and some 

young communicators even apply these tech-speak practices to their emails, it is still considered an unprofessional form of 

business communications.
